This post could be my final post before I step into the examination 'class' (well, I am not going to battle in the air-conditioned school hall like 2 years ago ...) to fight the last paper battle of my school life. It's do or die for school leavers like me ...
What I'm going to say here is that what will the future be for school leavers (like me) ... Most of us had been through 6+5+1 (remove class, if there is) [does not include pre-school] years of schooling. Spending hours in our class for lessons, finishing killer homework and assignments that work us like madmen/madwomen, participating co-curricular activities, of course the end of month/semester/year/syllabus exams that make us burn oil for the results and rankings.
Those days are over, and now we have arrived to the cross to the unknown - some pricey, some affordable, some unworthy, some could be a one-in-a-million opportunity. We will not know where will these roads lead us to. As a school leaver, you'll get what a school-leaver feel when standing at a crossroad with multiple solutions crosswide with attractive options luring them and those dimmer options would be looking at them, waiting for them to pick amongst the options given.
Then, we have our partners that we will keep moving with our lives with them. Some of us may have them already, but I thought many of us are still in the mill to understand romance and match ourselves with a perfect/near-perfect pair. Well, we will find our life partners and then get together one day to engage, make an official statement to the engagement, and then do one of the important things human would need to do to continue mankind - 'make human' as directly translated by a Chinese term.
Next up, our parents are getting older and really need us after their retirement. So not gonna abandon/send them to Rachnadar (the place where old folks never wanted to go there, as referred in 'Catch Us If You Can'), right? Well, the signs and symptoms of getting aged eg. whitened hairs, wrinkles, inability/reduced ability of controlling some body functions i.e. bladder, mental retardation ......... (we hope not so), are gonna catch up with our parents one day (well, they can be avoided if actions were taken to curb them). We have to take up our responsibility to take care them as if they took care of us in the past when we were young.
At the same time, negative influence are the stuff we really need to kick it out from our minds. This type of influence is destructive to our mind, body, lives, possibly others' life. We shouldn't lose our humility and moral-awareness to pay the price for being rich fast or getting something we do not have by not doing the right way. Nothing should be the reason for us to do harm to anyone/anything anywhere, anytime. I didn't mean that we should be very disciplined, but at least don't appear on the news headlines for all the wrong reasons that are genuinely our fault.
Friends, go on with your dreams, and hope we'll meet again some day in the future where we'll remember each other. Thanks for doing you and me good in our lives.
This is Taylor's song, dedicated to you guys, entitled 'Long Live' from her last album, 'Speak Now':
Bye, friends.
